Quota refugees coming to New Zealand are accommodated at the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre (MRRC). There are six intakes of around 125 people each year. Refugees spend six weeks at the MRRC before being resettled in local New Zealand communities.
Greenwood Roche is advising the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment on the redevelopment of the MRRC. Our work has included advice on the overall structuring of the project, the tendering process, and drafting the necessary documents regarding redevelopment of the facility and its on-going maintenance. The scope of the redevelopment includes the demolition of the existing resettlement centre and construction of a new purpose-built facility over a staged construction programme to allow the MRRC to remain operational.
Watercare Services Limited is responsible for providing water and wastewater services to the greater Auckland region and is undertaking a number of projects to increase its infrastructure network.
